Toddler Thoughts & Favorites (12-18 mo.)
Right before H turned one, I was like “she’s not a toddler until she starts walking.” Well, something happened the second she turned 1! It was giving toddler lol (walking or not). But she was also very much still a baby. Toddlerhood brought its own set of new challenges; but we are having fun!
She has so much personality and opinions. She wants to climb and is learning to jump in the pool. It’s exhausting but so amazing. I’m definitely nervous about flying with her in a few weeks since she’s changed so much since the last time. Stay tuned for an update on that. As I said before, it has become harder for me to balance it all but it is still doable. Corey being home a few days a week with me is saving us for sure. Initially, we were thinking preschool in Fall 2024. That has since changed and she’ll stay home until she’s at least 3 (barring any setbacks).
Now let’s get into some of the things we’re loving these days:
I should have started getting these much sooner. These kits are all over social media but they live up to the hype. You can definitely buy and pick out your own toys (likely for cheaper) but the ease of this service is well worth it. All of the toys are developmentally appropriate and aesthetically pleasing.
Toddler Step Stool + Kitchen Tower
My least favorite part of the toddler phase: all of the dirt and germs! They touch everything and it’s disgusting but also age appropriate. This stool is great for hand washing. I also recently added this one to the cart. Faucet extender.
H loves doing what we are doing in the kitchen. This tower has been great so far.
I keep this in the upstairs bathroom just to start introducing the potty. We have not officially started potty training but this will help her get familiar with it.
I recommend that you get this right at 12 months or whenever they take that first wobbly step! Don’t wait like I did. It’s great for pre/early walkers. And the helmet is adorable too.
I bought this right after she started crawling and it was perfect. She still likes to climb on it.
Another must for crawlers. She’s more into it these days too.
Saw this for $15 and couldn’t resist. I’m sure I’ll get her a cuter one for the playroom but she loves this one.
The plan is to have one upstairs and one downstairs. I decided to start with this one because I didn’t want to pay for the Anywhere Pottery Barn chair (yet).
If you know me then you know I love a house shoe. I had to find some cute ones for H.
I know barefoot is best but they’re going to need shoes at some point. H walked the best in the bootie sneakers and these sandals. I meant to also try a pair from Footmates but never got around to it. Also: if you can get their foot sized properly at a shoe store it will save you from buying multiple pairs at once.
Lastly, I’m currently picking out things to finalize the playroom. Some things in my cart:
Play Couch (also considering the Nugget)
Ikea Kid Table and Lalo Kid Table
I’m deciding between these two right now. Huge price difference. TBD.
Play Kitchen and Another Play Kitchen (deciding between the two)
…if you made it all the way down here, you’re a real one. If we’re not already acquainted then feel free to send me a message. 🙂
