Current Favorites (10.31.23)

This month has been busy. We traveled back to Florida earlier this month to visit family/friends and celebrate our anniversary with H. I was skeptical but celebrating with our girl was extra special. We lounged around at our resort and went back to Disney. Everyone had the best time! Since we returned, we’ve been doing all the Fall things. For me, it’s not fully Christmastime until the second or third week of November; depending on where I’m at with my Fall activities :).

Here are a few of my current favorites:

1. // Surviving Paradise

I love a good (trash) TV show! This one surprised me. At first glance, I didn’t think I would even finish it. It’s all about alliances and competing to stay in a luxurious villa. If you like The Challenge or the Circle then you should definitely check this one out.

2. // Baby Monitor

We bought this one to use just for travel but it’s our new regular monitor now. It has more features than our previous one (sounds/lullabies and free live remote access). In the early days, I would have considered the Nanit but I didn’t want to have to exclusively use my phone to monitor. This one allows me to use both my phone and a stand alone.

3. // Baby Trench Coat

Zara has the most adorable clothes for girls. This trench was mandatory for my girlie (quilted in the inside too for extra warmth). I also got this coat!

4. // The Maryland Zoo

We visited during the Zoo Boo event and it was so fun! It’s very spacious and beautifully landscaped. All of the animals looked well taken care of too. It was very crowded but none of the exhibits felt crowded (plenty of space to stand and look). It’s my new favorite zoo. The National Zoo in DC has a special place in my heart since Corey and I used to visit a lot when we lived in DC. But, I have to say: this one is better. The worst part is that it’s in Baltimore.

5. // Toner & Exfoliate

So I may or may not be using a proper toner and exfoliate for the first time recently. As I said before, I like to keep my skincare very minimal. I decided to add a few more steps and my skin is happier. I almost never breakout but I do get tiny bumps here and there. I’m sure there are fancier options out there but this is a good start for me. I also grabbed this Vitamin C Moisturizer (so far so good).

That’s all for now. I had to work hard to make this list include more me and less toddler. Being a mom can really be all consuming. I love it; but I’m trying to be intentional about self-care and setting aside me time.

Oh, and we’re traveling (again) for Thanksgiving. We’ll be in Arkansas with Corey’s family (baby girl’s first time in AR). Am I looking forward to being at the airport during the holiday season? No. Am I still excited to travel again and see family? Yes!
